This bear is just getting over a case of the mange. Mange is a small parasite that burrows under the skin. It makes the skin very itchy for the poor bear. I do not know but suspect salt is how they get rid of them? I’ve found bears with mange wade or swim in the ocean. I suspect the salt in the water kills the mites?
