Tonight is the Snow moon. ….not that I’ll be able to see it,as It’s been raining a lot! This was shot in 2016.
When the moon rises in the east it’s always very faint. As It rises It gets brighter and brighter. There is about a 20 -30 minute time window when the brightness and contrast are perfect! The GoldiLocks zone,where it’s not too faint and it’s not too bright,It’s just right!

that’s it Noelle! I know where their boundaries are. If I see a eagle in that territory It must be the owner. Eagle territories fit together like huge jig saw pieces along the waters edge.
Think of like “gang” territory.

Luckliy the moon looks the “same” each year, Wayne. When you add Romeo into the shot, the moon pales a little at the presence of the regal eagle! Gorgeous!!

So when is the golden hour for the moon? My pictures of the moon are sadly lacking in anything golden.
there isn’t one. You have to hang around for several hours waiting for it to come into perfect contrast. It’s usually either too faint or too bright. Mindfullness is required.
Ah that explains why I don’t have many pictures of the moon!
taking pictures with the moon in it (properly exposed) is a science unto itself!
Not one that I have studied, and need to do so.

We did not get a good look at the full moon down here either. It got rained out.
