funny you mention that Robbie….I was downtown feeding my Crow friends when I saw two Gulls fighting over a piece of bread!
They both had it in their mouths and were leaning away from each other in an epic tug of war match! Wish I had my camera for that!
I can hear that one with the open beak squawking from here! Lucky you getting to see all of them at one time. You had a nice finish to the year photography-wise.
For years I wore my over the ear headphones while doing yardwork. My mom would say I would be singing at the top of my lungs and you could hear me all over the neighborhood. Easy to sing and forget others are around, as the headphones block out all the outside noise.
singing up a storm! You should do that more Linda!
I really used to belt ’em out and I’m not sure I could carry a tune Wayne!
Beautifully seen Wayne…wow…love the colour palette ~ sending joy hedy
Such gorgeous photos, Wayne!
thank you Lynette,Blues are a great subject!
That must have been quite a sight in person!
Yes and I’m glad I was wearing headphones so I couldn’t hear it squawking!
Squawking?! Surely not . . . ;)
Herons are the biggest squawkers in the Universe! I doubt there is another creature more squawky!
Whenever I see one, it is always silent and majestic. Fooled me!
maybe mine just object to their picture being taken?
Makes sense to me!
Wow, splendid pictures so well captured of few Herons.
thank you Kamal!
Most welcome Wayne 😊
I attempted to take pictures of two seagulls having a spat over a fish today. Mine are nothing like yours but it made me think of you.

Wonderful captures Wayne.
Thank you Cindy. Herons are tricky to get close to. About the only way you can Is If they are concentrating on a fish they see!
So amazing 🤓🤍sending joy hedy✨
Thank you for the joy Hedy!
Enjoyed these. Walking on ice?
No,…….no ice in the harbour Jane. The ice is further east down the inlet
Wonderful, especially love the first shot!🙂
Thank you!
We had a great gray heron fly down our street the other day – huge and magnificent!
they look prehistoric!

I wear over the ear headphones while I listen to my music, So they can squawk as much as they want!

So Ontario’s blue herons might go to B.C.? I always assumed they flew south. To me, a blue heron is more of a harbinger of spring then a robin.
only If they mask up ……they naturally social distance already!
