Hi Wayne. Exquisite lighting on the Blue’s face and neck. This is a beautiful older adult with those back aigrets and long long chest feathers. You’ve captured more Herons this year than I have! Well done.
Yes,I got lucky! When I first spotted the Blue It was in the darkness but because I was moving toward it It went up a bit and that’s when the light hit it perfectly!

Thank you for identifying this Blue Babsje.
This Heron is always around this area.
As if he would beam from inside… Wonderful!
He was in complete shadow and as I approached it hopped up onto a rock and that’s when the light hit it’s head!
Thank you for the visit!
Wow!
Wow, fantastic.
just sheer fluke that it moved into a spot where the head was lite up!
Yes for sure 😊
Gorgeous get of this heron. I saw a small blue heron locally a few weeks ago and a great one flew by our front door!
A Blue Heron did a fly by? Oh how lucky are you Noelle! I now think that means your house is blessed?
This is a very vivid, picture, Wayne.

It’s not often you get to see a glow-in-the-dark Great Blue Heron!
I was pleasantly surprised to see how the light hit just the head! Perfect!
Yes, it spotlighted him nicely – another right-time, right-place, perfect ray of sun to get this shot.
he hopped up onto a rock which painted his head perfectly!
Just lovely! Perfect in fact, Wayne.
Thank you Emma! A lucky shot to be sure.
Yes, but you were there with your camera.
