I found many Blue Herons out tonight! These two were hunting in the shallows. I swung around 180 degrees to get a different perspective.

Beautiful, especially the second picture. The colours are lovely.
thank you Robbie! The only problem I had was that dark area behind the furthest Heron. It absorbed the Herons outline.
both you and Lynette prefer the silhouette Robbie!
That is interesting.
Yes,but I prefer the golden one myself. We each have our preferences I suppose.
That second shot in particular is gorgeous!
you prefer the silhouette rather than the golden one eh. I like the golden one better myself.
Love the difference.
thank Annette! What your seeing is me being creative because both Romeo and Juliette! were gone!
Great shots of the herons, Wayne. These creatures simply fascinate me. They always appear to be so fragile.
Guess they are a lot sturdier than they appear, eh?
thanks Angie! Always so good to hear from you! Considering they weigh in about 5 pounds it does makes them look fragile!
I love the silhouette of them. :)
everybody likes that? The land in behind the furthest Heron I find bothering. The outline cannot be seen fully.
The herons look nice together – I don’t recall seeing two in one photo before. They sure don’t mind wading up to their bodies – the water must not be too cold.
you’d find it too cold for your feet.
Ha ha – I saw Harry this morning – something spooked him just before I arrived and he was overhead as I approached and, without making a sound I might add. What a drama queen Harry is with me when I spook him!
“ALL” Herons are drama queens Linda!
I’m thinking it’s that prehistoric look they have Wayne – they have to look and act like Pteradactyls.
They say all birds came from dinosaurs ,so maybe a Pterodactyl is the Blue Herons great great great…………….ancestor?
I believe it – I can’t say I’ve ever seen a cute dinosaur (unless you want to count Dino, the family pet on “The Flintstones”.
No,Dino is a cartoon, real dinosaurs do not look or act so cute……many would attack you I bet!
Those are great photos of the herons!
I’ve scanned down through your posts in the reader and jumping in again. You are right about the fires smoking it up! We were situated in a Level 1 evac zone with a Level 3 10 min down the road. We were lucky and did not have to leave. The sunrises and especially sunsets re still colorful.
lets hope the cooler weather will decrease the fires Lavinia!
That way you were sure to get their “best side.” 🐸
Thats nature as its best. Thank you for sharing, Wayne! Enoy your week! Michael
thank you Michael!
Excellent photography 👍🤝
thank you,It’s my passion!
Wonderful title, and great fun to see the “flip side,” Wayne. Both photos are so dreamy, so delightful.
thank you Jet and I hope those fires have been are at bay.
Beautiful creatures – at a distance.
try getting close….they won’t let you.
Ha, ha. I know. Once a blue heron put its beak through my dad’s paddle.
really! How odd! How he got that close to begin with is also very odd! They usually take off!
