watching him perch is always exciting! I try to get the focus really quickly! If I pan perfectly I can track but If I’m off slightly the focus gets soft or bad.
ah yes,but they are masters. They always have to take off and land into the wind.
I’ve seen the Daredevil flying over to me going with the wind but when he lands he swings around 180 degrees to finish his perching going against the wind!
People have no right to ever call them birdbrains!
I wonder how that term came about?
I sure don’t get it Wayne – birds are very intelligent and you said Ravens are smarter than many other critters. I saw it from the many birds we had through the years.
That was very interesting Wayne – The story and videos as well. In the first video, talking about smart birds, that might have been Rita making a cameo appearance. I saw a funny little video on Twitter yesterday on “I Love Nature” – a parrot was inside at the bottom of a screen door looking out at a cat, just on the outside of the glass. The parrot kept ducking down, out of the sight of the cat, then popping up again, then saying “Peek a boo” each time it did that – it was just clear as a bell. Gave me a smile. Ann Marie tells me she can say a word or phrase just a few times and her Amazon Gray Parrot will repeat it to her.
Gray’s are known to be very smart! They mimic very well but Ravens formulate like humans!
That’s such a wingspan – so incredible.
all seven feet of it!
Magnificent!

Wow. Spectacular
That is quite a feat to get a shot like this. Great detail!
thank you Jane! Romeo was acting up last night. He didn’t come when I called so feel lucky I got these to be honest!
Wow, wow, wow, missed your photos! Finally, I’m able to check out WordPress again.
thank you Benji! I like to think of myself as a farmer and my pictures are my seeds. I hope they make people hearts grow.
They do!
He studies the place he will perch to ensure it is a good landing, that tail fanned out and always the amazingly big wingspan.
a eagle is a master of flight! Its the main thing they learn when they leave the nest. Romeo has landed at this spot literally thousands of times.
That is a big bird to land on that narrow perch.
