My buddy was around tonight! I was so happy to see him flying out to greet me! He’s been gone for several weeks. He went to the salmon spawning grounds.

Great to see him again! The overhead shot is especially fantastic, thought the landing sequence shows the grace of this handsome bird quite well!
Yes,I certainly missed him! He showed up at the right time too! The clouds last night really made a great sunset!

One very happy photographer – Wayne Barnes of Tofino Photography welcomes home an old friend.. Romeo returns from the salmon spawning grounds. What wonderful images..
Wow! At first i have to apologize again for the late revisit, Wayne! Really fascinating the images you make. There is wanderlust in the air. :-) Many thanks to Sally with her recommendation for your blog. Thank you so much, and best wishes! Michael
Sally is a darling and you can come over for a visit anytime Michael!
The light was great!
So true! Thank you very much Wayne! Best wishes, Michael
All wonderful but that first photo is really wow
he’s a marvel to behold in person Robbie!
Awww—looks like he’s looking down at you. I love the beauty of his open wings. Is he the one you did the video of sometime back??
no,that was the Daredevil. They live several miles apart.
I do zoom in to check the focus and sometimes I do see him looking straight at me while he’s preparing to perch. Silly bear!
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
and thank you for visiting!
It’s always a great relief when some of our wildlife friends re-emerge after an absence. I’m really glad Romeo returned, Wayne. Fantastic photo.
me too Jet,the salmon runs this year were poor. Bears are upset and testy. Hungry I suppose.
Great photo! I too welcome the homecoming of old friends, small and large. Our Carolina Wrens just came back after a short absence.
excellent! The Anna Hummers have arrived for their winter stay! Imagine flying north into the cold! All the others are flying south!
