Whenever I see eagles paired up this time of year I know whats going on. Its mating season. They begin to pair up around Valentines day which I find cosmically ironic.

I found this pair on Rankin rocks. Its part of their territory. The female is on the right. Notice how much larger she is to the male. (about 1/3 )

Rankin rocks is far from Tofino so I do not come down here normally.

  1. You get some amazing photos! We just got a foot of snow here, complete with power outage, so I think spring has been delayed a bit. We had a mild December and January, and are now getting “winter”.

  2. So magnificent to see these two bald eagles pairing up. Fantastic captures of their dance, and the background is stunning too. It hasn’t been that many years since bald eagles were disappearing from our earth, so how lovely to see them multiplying.
