Maggie looks smaller than usual here since she is on the mudflats and just because the background is so large and overwhelming. Those mountain views just take your breath away.
It’s probably such a different sensation for Maggie to be near ground level and still feel as safe as up on a high perch. No one was down there with her, so she kind of owned those mud flats, so might as well be excited about that!
she does own the mudflats. They fall within her territory.
If you were another eagle & tried to sit where she is she’d be flying out to you fast & it wouldn’t be for tea.
Ha ha – no wonder she was hopping around like that then!
Interesting to see the mudflats, I hadn’t seen a photo of them before.
they are interesting but always remember to only walk on sea weed.If you walk anywhere else you’ll loose your boot!
The sea weed gives a more solid bottom instead of just boot sucking mud.
So beautiful!
she did run across the mudflats & looked so funny! She makes me laugh!

that view looks better when snow is on it.

I have a lot of experience with mudflats! Not fun. I’m amazed that the bird has not sunk down into the mud even a little. Is there food there?
oh always! The tide brings it in & drops it off!
