I liked how they stood to get the berries & Piglet being much lighter was able to climb high into the bushes & walk along the limbs themselves! ! was worried she might fall.
Those berries are so delicious that Piglet is closing her eyes and just savoring them as she eats them. It’s amazing how brown her muzzle is up close. You don’t notice it so much when she looks straight-on at you, but when she tips her head back you do. The photo looks like you are practically standing over her!
Browns are way bigger than even the biggest Blacks to begin with. I heard this on the radio while camping & wondered if any of my furry friends were checking themselves out to see if they could compete!
I didn’t realize the brown bears were that much bigger. That bear who won is beyond chubby – your furry friends have to step up their game for sure!
compared to “409 Beadnose” our blacks are 1/3 the size I estimate!
I had no idea of the difference in size! Your black bears look pretty large to me, but 409 Beadnose would not be a bear to run into in a dark alley.
I wish they could of named her better……….like “Pearl” for instance.She looks like a Pearl to me.
It was kind of a dumb name wasn’t it? I wondered if there was a tag and they were using that as a name?
having said that,the Polar bear is the largest bear on the earth.One was shot in 1960 weighing in at 2200 pounds!
That’s a big bear – he weighs more than a ton! Now you see the sad photos of polar bears starving and looking like skin and bones due to global warming and the ice flows can no longer support their weight for them to get food.
Polar bears are being affected by us more than the weather.We’ve caused the weather true but by us taking their food source they must roam further searching.
The photos and videos of the polar bears barely with the strength to walk are very sad. I would think that some organization could air drop food in for them so they don’t starve; we humans cannot undo the harm we caused, but we could help now before it is too late.
