Perfect title … were they revering the Heron perched above them? I recognized the Cormorants, having seen so many of them during recent walks. None of these birds were bobbing for fish, just taking in the Tofino beauty.
this spot is a rocky islet out in the harbour.Birds of all types like it for resting.That Heron is almost always perched there.Those Cormorants are recent arrivals.
It looks like that brownish cormorant sees the heron taking off and thinks, “Hey, I can do that too!”

Everyone has to have a safe place to stop and take a breather sometimes … it looks like the Comorants are copycats.
