I found a female bear tonight that had a fair sized scar across her face.It was right under her right eye.Bears always swipe for the face instinctively! Hoping to blind it’s opponent. She came close to loosing her eye!
I hope she’s feeling well. Her nose looked dry.
A rare bear! It seems there haven’t been as many around this summer.
correct Audrey.Nature ebbs & flows.Everything moves in cycles.Maybe next year will be another bumper crop of Bruins?
rare bear………I like the rhyme!
Aw, beautiful lady!
I enjoyed her company last night.
Yes, I hope she is a well bear also. I’m sure you will keep an eye on her as much as you can.
I try but they just appear & disappear like ghosts.
Funny, I noticed that dry nose right away and thought she must have rubbed her snout in some dirt … then I read the post, hopefully my guess is right. She looked right at you so hopefully that eye is healthy too.
oh yes, she’ll be fine I’m sure Linda
That’s good – you will monitor her for us okay?
If I see her again, yes! Because she has distinctive markings she’ll be easy to spot.
Good to see how the bear got its name – and lucky that there seems to be no permanent damage. Great shot!
they are a hardy lot!
thank you Noelle!
Glad to see a bear. Thought they were all in hiding because of the smoke
I don’t know where they would hide because the smoke is everywhere.Plus they do need to eat & the shore line is their supermarket.
