I was pleasantly surprised to find a male Stellar Sea Lion on Rankin rocks! I also noticed while going down Tofino inlet signs of bait fish about.Which is probably the reason why he is in the house to begin with. The bait fish have been absent for the last few years & as a result the Lions as well.

I also noticed that this fellow has a old injury to his upper right lip.

  1. Those sea lions are massive – three bulls would regularly sun themselves in the harbors in Petersburg. The dock that they heaved themselves up on was crushed under their weight! It sagged in the water, LOL

There would always be one lone one in Burnett Inlet; he’d sun himself on a rock not far from the hatchery. Sometimes we’d hear him bellowing – he was loud enough to be heard over the roar of the waterfall!
