LONELY BRUIN

The tide was dropping but still fairly high. I found this lonely bruin cruising along in the exact same spot as “Blonde” yesterday!

“BLONDE”

This is a unusual bear.It looks like a 3 year old female. Vancouver island bears all have darkly coloured noses,but this one has a blonde colour! Very unusual. So I’m calling this one “Blonde”.

All animals sooner or later island hop. They basically swim to a island & use it to get to another place. In this case,I caught this bear going to a larger island. If it finds enough food there,it’ll stay there.

This “super yacht” was anchoured in Tofino’s harbour. I found out it cost almost 26 million but sold at auction for the poverty sum of 11 million! Someone got a deal!

THE ‘CLIFFORD A BARNES”

This boat does research. It basically gathers information from the ocean by sampling the water at different depths. They have a device they lower down to the bottom that has many tanks on it. They can open & close these sampling tanks at different depths to sample the waters plankton. They also check PH,temperature,salinity,DO (dissolved oxygen). This data is collected because of fish farms being near by. The Government wants to make sure the environment isn’t being affected adversely by the farms.
