I always visit this small islet each year when the Daffodil’s are blooming. Not sure who planted them, but there are three small patches of them. This spot is just north of the “Big Tree Trail”on Meares.
Looks like I took a shot of myself too!
I do not think Moe & Maggie are expecting yet? I haven’t seen her on their nest.
I was surprised to see them both going at the same fish at the same time!
Looks like Moe won by a feather!
Each year you can almost set your watch on these guys having eggs!
Juliette was sitting low in the nest keeping the eggs warm.
I got up early this morning (5am) to shoot the moon set/sun rise out at the beach.
The plan was to get a shot with the full moon directly above the Lighthouse, but alas the moon’s orbit was too far south to line them both up.
I did however get some shots of both Frank & Frieda in their nest tree on Frank Island!
Once again,Frank felt me looking at him (I was about 5-600 meters away) & he bugged out! You can see Frieda hiding down near the tree.
Got out today. You could call today a “Rainbow” kind of day. I got some great Rainbow shots today!
I shot this in Dawley pass. I went up to Fortune channel to look for bears. Didn’t find them out & about but the rainbows were popping up everywhere today!
Both of them flew past me & perched. Ethel on the mast & Ernie on the post.
This is odd!
Romeo has never chirped so loudly or vigorously after landing on his rock perch!
I like to think that he was just happy to see me!
This shot shows a better perspective of Romeo’s rock perch.
It kind of reminds me of a King sitting high on his throne!
A short but intense hail storm just went through Tofino.
We have all seen a normal Rainbow & I have even seen a Moonbow, but this is a first for me……..a “HAILBOW”!
You can see hail still on the walkways!
The wind was up today to it’s old tricks! The power went out & flickered a few more times.
A very active day!
I obviously didn’t go out today, so I went out to the beach.
